Jibbitz™ Launches Accessory Line to Personalize Crocs

Both Kids and Adults Can Create Their Own Style by Adding Snap-On Flowers, Stones, Peace Signs, Words and Designs in the Holes of the Clogs

Boulder, CO – August 9, 2005– Thousands of people who own lightweight, waterproof clogs such as Crocs, can now personalize their shoes with Jibbitz™ (www.jibbitz.com). Jibbitz are handmade accessories that come in all different shapes and sizes with designs such as silk flowers, colored stones, yin yang and peace symbols, sports gear, American flags, happy faces, and words such as “Love”, “Be Happy”, and more. Jibbitz snap into the holes of waterproof clogs and are easily interchangeable.

Famous for fashion and function, waterproof clogs now can be customized and individualized. Owners can personalize their clogs with a different message or style every day. Jibbitz can even be traded from clog to clog like friendship pins.

“Up until now, Croc owners only had the ability to customize their shoes with different colors. Now the possibilities are endless,” said Sheri Schmelzer, owner and creator of Jibbitz. “My three kids wanted a way to personalize their clogs, so the idea for Jibbitz was born. They love to decorate their favorite clogs with Jibbitz to fit their moods or match colorful outfits. When the kids are out with their Jibbitz, people often stop and stare and ask where they can get some.”

Schmelzer started the business in her basement with a few Jibbitz designs for her kids and their friends, and Jibbitz have become so popular that it is now a growing business with more than 200 designs available on the Web site. Jibbitz are sold in packages of seven at a retail price ranging from $9.95 to $19.95. Jibbitz are currently sold only through www.jibbitz.com, but Schmelzer has plans to expand into retail stores late this year.

“My son never asked for a pair of Crocs until he saw the Jibbitz website,” said Zan O’Leary, full-time working mom and mother of two children, ages 5 and 2. “When he saw the animals and the “I love soccer” Jibbitz on the Web site, he had to have them. He wanted his own style and Jibbitz make him feel special. I am even considering purchasing a pair for myself so I can wear the silk flowers!”
